World Radio Map dot com

My reception locations are worldwide, so need to keep up with latest information of local radio services, accordingly have been a member of BDXC and ARDXC.

In many cases, maps and atlases are key tools to facilitate intellectual curiosity, I think.

The 'World Radio Map.com' is a website that lists MW/FM/DAB/DAB+ radio stations by their real broadcasting frequencies and enables you to tune in directly from your browser, with no download required.

It's also a place to find information about main transmitters and towers' technical data and many radio-related links.

It covers all the major cities of the world, from Chicago to Acapulco, from Frankfurt to Johannesburg, from Moscow to Tel Aviv, from Shanghai to Melbourne ... can listen online all radio stations from these cities and thousands more from all over the World for free!

Now everyone can listen online all radio stations from these cities and thousands more from all over the World for free!

It’s owned and operated by Mikhail Shcherbak (a.k.a. Predavatel) with help of many his friends, including me, around the world.

It's really great job!

Unfortunately, no information of international SW services is in the web.

We're not interested in SW broadcasts (I think it might be obsolete!) and I don't own any SDR (Software Defined Receiver) nor communication receiver nor heavy external antenna.

Why don't we savor 'simple listening' on the sidelines of travel?

DAB+ services are now expanding in Australia! 【Viva digital radio】

I'm the only Japanese member of ARDXC (Australian Radio DX Club), have been to Australia twice, Sydney and Perth.

According to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), DAB+ services are expanding across Australia with trials in Canberra and Darwin NT to transition to permanent services.

And to be added to Hobart TAS and Gold Coast QLD over the next two to three years.

ACMA, in consultation with the Digital Radio Planning Committee, has prepared a package of planning papers for the future development of DAB+ across Australia.

I appreciate this and look forward to enjoying digital radio listening in this country.

ACMA Chairman, Richard Bean said ‘The commercial radio industry has indicated there are a significant number of regional licensees that have expressed interest in offering digital radio services in the next three to five years’.

Also said ‘The ABC has also announced its intention to commence new services in Darwin and Hobart’.

The ACMA is facilitating the digital radio rollout by preparing digital radio channel plans for Canberra, Darwin, Hobart and the Gold Coast.

These plans will make frequencies available to broadcasters wishing to provide ongoing digital radio services in those areas.

Details of the timing of commencement of digital radio in these markets will be determined by the broadcasters.

The ‘Seoul AM radio listening guide’

The ‘Seoul AM Radio Listening Guide’ is a three-hour documentary broadcast narrated by Chris Kadlec, based in MI, the US.

(He'd stayed in South Korea from 2009 to 2016)

It also takes a look at propaganda and signal jamming as part of the radio wars between Seoul and Pyongyang and accompanied by a superlatively detailed 115-page guide and complete audio transcript.

It’s unbelievably great!

I’ve never seen such an incredible detailed listening report!

(the URL)

I assure that it must be an ideal web site for us local MW/FM/digital radio listeners, heard worldwide, especially in East Asia region.

No less important is the fact that a geographical point of view accelerates understanding of local broadcasts.

He did specialize in geography like me.

It’s no wonder that he is able to accomplish such a great feat!

FM in December 2016 (in Canary islands, Spain)

A member of BDXC, John Hoad, based in Kent (in South East England), went to Lanzarote island (in Canary Islands, Spain) in last December.

He kindly allows me to introduce his scanned results on this blog.

(Lanzarote island)

According to Wikipedia, Lanzarote is the easternmost of the autonomous Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, approx. 125 kilometres off the coast of Africa and 1,000 kilometres from the Iberian Peninsula. Covering 845.94 square kilometres, it is the fourth-largest of the islands in the archipelago with 141,938 inhabitants,

It’s the third-most populous island of the Canary Islands, after Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

In the centre-west of the island is the Timanfaya National Park, which is one of the main attractions of Lanzarote, the capital is Arrecife.

He said he was able to hear lots of stations by his ATS-909X with its telescopic antenna, however, as he has little knowledge of Spanish, it was difficult to identify without RDS.

(My ATS-909X in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan)

On checking a log of a quick listen, he did on the afternoon of 18 December, found out the answer to his un-id on 102.5MHz.

It was Radio Europa Lanzarote, also on 99.4MHz at 1522 UTC, with ID and a song by Enya, in German //102.5 (Fuerteventura) weaker and 20 seconds ahead.
